This made the XPS 13 run hot, and eventually the fan in the dock would kick in. Under what in 2020 would be considered to be trivial load, the Intel Graphics chip on the 2020 built was being taxed – you to 40% GPU utilisation. I did notice secondary issues when playing 720p video from YouTube on just one of the screens. Equally, using DisplayPort 1.2 in a daisy chain off of one of the DisplayPort connectors worked as well.Īll three screens loaded at 1920×1200 60Hz and there were no signs of lag or stuttering in 2D operations. Using 2x DisplayPort and 1x HDMI yielded the correct resolution. Using three identical Dell U2415 screens running at 1920×1200, it was possible to connect all three displays at 60Hz. ![]() The official documentation ( PDF) for the WD19TB is poorly laid out, unclear and accordingly is open to interpretation. ![]() The other was whether it was possible to use the three eternal screens plus the internal screen of the XPS 13 as a 4th display. One of the questions that I sought to answer was whether the dock was capable of outputting on 3x 1920×1200 monitors at 60fps. I had the opportunity to experiment with a WD19TB Thunderbolt dock while evaluating the new XPS 13 ultrabook. I'm pretty sure that it has to be related to some obscure Thunderbolt layer issue.This article discusses using the thunderbolt dock with three 1920×1200 screens and four screens. If any one wants to dig and fix it, here are the log files. I really wasn't using this component anymore, so its all fine for me. So I dug the crash report and found that the foo_out_ks.dll component was the cause, so I removed it and now it starts. (Even with this dock's soundcard not being selected nor used in any way) the lot.īut I noticed that when I connect the dock WD19TB (it has an additional soundcard), foobar crashed at start. I installed 1.6.4 on my new Dell XPS 13 2in1 and everything went smooth, manually copying all my 10+ years carefully made configurations, plugins. I was going to post this startup crash query but I finally managed to resolve it by myself and I want to share it here, maybe I'll help others with the same scenario. ![]()
